Tight End: Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots; Back-up: Ben Coates, New England Patriots;
It's simply unreal to think about what he has already accomplished as a Tight End in his short career. Unfortunately, his career is appearing to be quite short, as Gronk just cannot seem to stay healthy. As far as this roster is concerned, he was highly blessed by being in a place where there just have not lived any great tight ends yet. This might make us laugh, but it's a group of words on every Jet fan's tombstone, and it's indicative of the lack of TE talent in this division's history: "And with the 9th pick of the First Round of the 1995 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select: Kyle Brady, Tight End, Penn State."
Offensive Tackle: Richmond Webb, Miami Dolphins; Back-up: Matt Light, New England Patriots;
Not particularly sure why Webb is not yet in the NFL Hall of Fame. He made 7 straight Pro Bowls, made 4 consecutive all-pro squads, and he was on the 1990s All-Decade Team.
Offensive Tackle: Marvin Powell, New York Jets; Back-up: Bruce Armstrong, New England Patriots;
Powell, originally a 3-time All-American out of USC, was picked in the first round of the 1977 NFL Draft. He made 5 Pro Bowls before going to rot in Tampa Bay his final two hapless years. He has found some rest and solace on this starting dream roster.
