NFL Fantasy Teams: AFC South Roster (Linebackers)

I won't lie. These AFC South Linebackers are just, awful, especially when identified as the cream of a crop of an NFL division. No surprise here, but both the OLBs and MLBs rank dead last among all NFL divisions, giving them the #8 overall line-backers rank.

AFC South Starting Middle Linebacker: DeMeco Ryans, Houston Texans

Yes, Ryans is the greatest Middle Linebacker in the history of the AFC South. He has 2 Pro Bowl berths and an All-Pro on his short resume thus far. Ryans is a tackling machine-- he already has 876 in only 7 years.

Back-up Middle Linebacker: Kevin Hardy, Jacksonville Jaguars

Hardy recorded a Pro Bowl and an All-Pro during his time in Jacksonville. I don't even know what else to write on these AFC South guys anymore...

Back-up Middle Linebacker: Gary Brackett, Indianapolis Colts

Brackett was the Colts' Defensive Captain when they won the Super Bowl. He did not attend any Pro Bowls, nor was he ever an All-Pro.

Back-up Middle Linebacker: Jeff Herrod, Indianapolis Colts

During his "stellar" years with the Colts Jeff was, Team Captain 1989-1998 (Appointed by former coach Ron Meyer, Ted Marchibroda, Jim Mora and Lindy Infante.), Defensive Player of the year 1989, 1990 & 1992, Jeff was Most Valuable Player 1991, Jeff also was the Single Game All-Time Leading Tackler (22),also held the Single Season All-Time Leading Tackler (200), All-Time Leading Tackler (1400)

AFC South Starting Outside Linebacker: Robert Brazile, Tennessee Titans (Houston Oilers)

Dr. Doom (Brazile) found immediate success with the Oilers, winning the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award for the 1975 season. He was named to the Pro Bowl seven straight seasons, was All-Pro five straight seasons (1976–80), and was selected to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 1970s. He is the only linebacker from the 1970s All-Decade Team not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1978 and 1979, Brazile was a key member of Oilers teams that went to back-to-back AFC Championship games.

AFC South Starting Outside Linebacker: Duane Bickett, Indianapolis Colts

Bickett was a Pro-Bowler and 3-time All-Pro. Apparently that is good enough to earn a spot on this starting roster.

Back-up Outside Linebacker: George Webster, Tennessee Titans (Houston Oilers)

3 Pro Bowls. Can't we just put Jadeveon Clowney in on good faith he will be pretty good? He hasn't yet played an NFL snap, but Houston just drafted him.

Back-up Outside Linebacker: Mike Peterson, Jacksonville Jaguars

Honestly, do you want to know what makes this guy most famous? Do you remember how, in your annual fantasy football online drafts, there would always be some wise guy nominate the fake Adrian Peterson (Bears RB) in a rouse to fool other fantasy owners into clicking on "bid" and paying top-dollar for faux Peterson? Mike Peterson is Fake AP's brother.
